Can you imagine Cathy in red garters? While such a look might not have fit into the world crafted by Emily Brontë, it’s certainly a possibility for Margot Robbie.
Following Robbie and her stylist, Andrew Mukamal, who essentially redefined what a modern press tour looks like during the promotion of Barbie, it's no surprise that they had something special planned for the launch of Wuthering Heights. This dynamic duo has collaborated with fashion houses like Chanel, Thom Browne, and Schiaparelli to curate custom outfits that nod to Brontë’s aesthetic—though perhaps a bit more contemporary than the original. However, their most stunning surprise came when they tapped into an impressive archive for inspiration.

At the recent London photocall for the film, Robbie showcased a daring ensemble from John Galliano’s spring 1992 collection. Imagine a fusion where Penny Lane meets Empress Joséphine; Robbie dazzled in a full-length toile coat adorned with soft pink shearling at the cuffs and neckline. Staying true to the original runway style, she paired the coat with a black micro miniskirt and a garter belt, which connected to striking red thigh-high stockings tied with a pink ribbon.
The only notable deviation in Robbie's styling was her choice of shoes. Rather than the two-toned footwear worn by Helena Christensen on the “Napoleon and Joséphine” runway, Mukamal opted for a chic pair of pale silver pointed-toe custom Malonos for Robbie, adding a personal touch to the overall look.
Just as the costumes in the film push boundaries, Margot Robbie also embraces a bold approach in her fashion choices.
