The Caribbean Premier League (CPL) is set to welcome a strong contingent of Pakistani players, with a particular focus on the Jamaica Kingsmen franchise. The Kingsmen have signed seven overseas players with ties to the Hyderabad Kingsmen, the parent franchise in the Pakistan Super League (PSL). This strategic move not only strengthens the Kingsmen's squad but also highlights the growing connection between the CPL and PSL. Among the notable signings is Maaz Sadaqat, a left-hand top-order batter with a strike rate of 178.08 in PSL 2026, the highest among batters who faced at least 100 balls. Sadaqat, who can also bowl left-arm fingerspin, recently earned call-ups to Pakistan's ODI and T20I squads, showcasing his versatility and potential. Another standout is Saim Ayub, a more familiar face in the CPL, who was the second-highest run-getter in 2023 with 478 runs in 13 innings at a strike rate of 142.26 for Guyana Amazon Warriors. Ayub, who has developed into an all-rounder with mystery spin variations, is set to return to the CPL after three years. The Kingsmen's squad also includes Pakistan-born USA players Hassan Khan and Shayan Jahangir, as well as rookie batter Tayyab Arif. These players were on the books of Hyderabad Kingsmen, which reached the PSL 2026 final earlier this year. The CPL 2026 will be played in a record-equalling eight nations, from August 7 until September 20, and will overlap with other major tournaments like The Hundred, the ETPL, and the LPL knockouts. The Jamaica Kingsmen, owned by Fawad Sarwar, a Pakistani businessman based in the United States, become the second Jamaican team to feature in the CPL after the Jamaica Tallawahs, who have been defunct since 2023. The Kingsmen's squad also includes local Jamaican stalwarts like Andre Russell and Rovman Powell, who come into the CPL on the back of winning MLC 2026 with LA Knight Riders. Powell will lead the Kingsmen after previously captaining the Jamaica franchise to the title in 2022. The franchise had the opportunity to recruit top local players unchallenged in the draft, further strengthening their squad. The CPL's growing popularity and the strategic alliances between franchises are transforming it into a global cricket spectacle, with a diverse range of players and a broader audience.
